Equipping the Body of Christ to Worship in Spirit and Truth

Biblical Color Symbolism

Colors are a form of non-verbal communication.  God used a visual sign of colors to represent a covenant He made with all the people of the earth:

"I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth....  The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth."   (Genesis 9:13, 16)

Symbolic meaning of colors is derived based upon repeated use in certain contexts (e.g. Biblical, in nature, cultural).  The following definitions are not set in stone, but provide some scriptures or cultural context associated with certain colors.
